Could you eschew violence if you were coerced into becoming a solider at the age of eight? If you witnessed brutal executions during a civil war, could you welcome former child soldiers back into your community? Together, Mediators Beyond Borders and the Public Conversations Project are working to reconcile former child soliders with their communities. Click here to learn more.
Post-conflict reconciliation. Community and economic development.  Democracy and governance. Addressing conflict from differing identities and worldviews. PCP adapts its practices and processes to reflect the cultural concerns and issues of people at the local level. It has worked on issues ranging from post-civil war reconciliation to reintegration of child soldiers to providing training that helps government and civil society work together more effectively.  The Public Conversation Project's international services include:
  • Consulting to community leaders who are adapting PCP dialogue methods to the local culture
  • Providing dialogue training to local leaders in areas experiencing or recovering from civil war, religious strife, and other violence
  • Consulting to groups and countries striving to build a more democratic process
  • Facilitating dialogues between multiple international stakeholders
